SPERM HEALTH

I regularly see women struggling with fertility issues - namely subfertility, infertility and multiple miscarriages. Every year the figures on the contribution of sperm issues to this problem increase. We have now reached 40-50% of infertility and miscarriage is due to a sperm issue.

The reasons for this can be due to:

> increased exposure to heavy metals, plastics and environmental toxins

> lack of specific nutrients that help with sperm formation - ie zinc, vitamin C, selenium, fish oil and

> hormonal imbalances > stress > structural issues, varicocele, undescended testes, cystic fibrosis and circulation issues

Thankfully and luckily for the men out there, the top 4 on this list can be rectified with the correct lifestyle and dietary support. But the key here is proper investigations to be sure of the root cause. I only recommend one lab in Sydney that specifically tests sperm, so there are fewer variables.

If you would like to check your swimmers - reach out for an initial appointment and I'll point you in the right direction. So often I see the woman for fertility support and in many cases, it is just as important for the man to be reviewed. This is a prompt for any couple out there, reading this in despair over their baby dream, to reach out. I would be more than happy to help.
