Alternatives to Breakfast Cereal & Avoiding Glyphosate

GLYPHOSATE

Glyphosate is a herbicide chemical widely known as roundup.  It has been researched and confirmed to cause cancer.

The WHO (world health organisation) took 45 samples of conventionally grown oats and found traces of glyphosate contamination 3-4 x higher than is determined as safe for children. Heavily used in the cultivation of grains and can cause many health disturbances.  Monsanto an American company has been required to pay out employees who have contracted cancer from working with the chemical.  It is a known carcinogen (cancer causing toxin).

The Environmental Working Group is working to have it removed from all farming as it has clear evidence of the effect on our and our children’s health.

Glyphosate contaminants in the body can even present like a gluten intolerance. Children are particularly sensitive to the exposure of the chemicals because their detoxification organs are much smaller.

These symptoms of exposure may express as

  • Painful stomach

  • Constipation

  • Impact on the nervous system and brain tissue effecting focus and concentration

  • Diarrhea

  • Headaches

The levels of glyphosate are concentrated in grains, wheat flour, oats, barley and rye.

How can we reduce this in our children’s diet?

I am wildly passionate about children’s breakfasts, I am always encouraging parents to reduce and cut out processed cereals as a breakfast meal.

Processed cereals are glyphosate, sugar and carbohydrate laden and provide empty nutrients that merely fill our children up but give them NO nutrients.

I am the mother of three boys and a business owner so I’m time-limited. So I have 4 alternative breakfast options that are 100 times more nutrient dense than packaged cereals.
